I. While the James Eads award is reduced to a point system and can easily have a deadline of mid-May each year, other awards require plaque preparation for individuals and in some cases might require non-members to attend the conference to receive their awards. For this reason additional time is needed to prepare for the Frank Blair, Jr award, the Show-Me award and the GAR award.

II. Each camp / individual members shall present their nominees for these award by March 31st of each year to the Senior Vice Commander who shall head a committee to review these awards and recommend nominees to the Department Commander for his decision. Those names approved by the commander will have plaques prepared for them.

III. The department will pay for one award in each category. If a camp or member recommends multiple people for an single award, that camp or member will have to provide a method of payment for the additional awards if that nomination is accepted as the winning one.

IV. Plaques presented for other reasons will require a vote of a department meeting or encampment.

V. Other commendations in the form of certificates are at the decretion of the Commander.
