Fletcher Camp #47's SVR Unit marches in the Farmington, MO, Veterans Day Parade held on November 4.

US Grant Camp #68 honors the last Union soldier to pass away in St Louis County - Seaman August Moreau.  Moreau died in 1945 and is buried at St. Monica's Catholic Cemetery in Creve Coeur, MO.  On November 4th, Grant Camp placed a ground marker indicating his service at the site.

TWO MISSOURIANS HONORED AT NATIONAL ENCAMPMENT

At the 2017 National Encampment, held in Lansing, MI, Commander-in-Chief Don Martin (pictured) honored two Missourians.  PCinC Don Palmer, Jr, of US Grant Camp #68 of St. Louis, received a meritorious service award with gold star for all his work on organizing the Missouri Vicksburg Monument Rededication that was held this past May.

The other awardee was PCinC Ed Krieser of Lincoln Camp #2, Branson, MO.  He received the Elmer (Bud) Atkinson Lifetime Achievement Award for all the work he has done and continues to do for both the SUVCW and the SVR.

NEW CAMP FORMED IN JEFFERSON CITY

A new camp has formed in Jefferson City, MO, its name is Lillie Camp No. 6.  The name recalls the Union camp that General John Frémont established in 1861 naming a camp after his daughter,  Lily.  The camp was at Jefferson City.  For those interested in joining the camp, membership in the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War is required.
