Pvt John Talkington 2nd Kansas CT Camp # 3

This camp organized in 2022.
The camp is named after the former slave, John Talkington (Tarkington/Tuckington), who joined the 2nd Kansas Colored Infantry, which was later reorganized into the 83rd U.S. Colored Troops. He died as result of wounds suffered in the Battle of Jenkins' Ferry.
