It is a shame that there are no Woman’s Relief Corps members in Missouri. They are not a “lineage organization,” they are simply patriotic women doing patriotic work and they simply affirm the following: 1) I hereby affirm that I am loyal to the United States; I have reached the age of at least 13 years; and that I am a woman of good moral character and correct deportment who has not given aid and comfort to enemies of the United States of America. 2) I promise to assist in the perpetuation of the memory of the Grand Army of the Republic. I promise to perpetuate the principals to which the Woman's Relief Corps stands. 3) I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to uphold its Constitution. As such, supporting our military like in World War II by serving food to returning servicemen, restoring monuments that are destroyed, holding ceremonies for veterans, operating their museum in Springfield, IL, honoring the Grand Army of the Republic, and more. If there is a way to honor our soldiers and sailors, these women do it. So seriously think about starting a Woman’s Relief Corps Circle with other patriotic women. |

Unlike the WRC, this organization has several members in Missouri still. Basically, if you are patriotic and even if you are not a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, you can join this group which supports the WRC in their programs and for their museum in Springfield, IL. While many members of this group currently belong to either MOLLUS, SUVCW or both, it is open to all patriotic men; however, like MOLLUS it is not considered an Allied Order.
The second national president of this organization is Past Missouri Department Commander Robert M. Petrovic, whose bio can be found elsewhere on the suvcwmo.org website.
